- And much, much more!
How does your curriculum align with state and national electrical standards?
Our curriculum is modeled from many individual states who have state-mandated learning objectives. So we use this as a minimum standard, as well as build more on top of it to create a modernized curriculum with both breadth and depth.
Our code instruction is based on the most recent version of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and we update it with each new code cycle.
We are also a licensed and approved Continuing Education provider in every state which requires state-mandated CE credit.
Lastly, we are licensed Master Electricians and instructors from around the U.S. so we have our finger on the pulse of education, and the trade overall.
What teaching resources are included with the curriculum package?
For schools who either license our learning system for use in their own LMS, or those who utilize our LMS – we offer lesson plans for a full 4-year (8-semester) apprenticeship program. With these lesson plans we also give Power Points to teach with, handouts to pass out to students, and worksheets for them to fill out while they’re learning.
We also provide quizzes, a bank of quiz questions, reviews, midterms, and finals which can be used to proctor exams.
Our video library is comprehensive and can be used to teach with as an extra resource for classrooms.
Finally we have a 5-hour instructor prep course which we teach advanced topics and teaching methodologies to bring all instructors up to speed on a unified standard of teaching.
**These teaching resources teach along side our textbook therefore they do not come with our “Video Only” package**
Can the curriculum be integrated into our existing learning management system?
Absolutely! We have two options for institutions who have their own LMS:
- Full Curriculum with Textbooks – this gives your program a full electrical curriculum, with videos on every topic, and instructor resources to use to administer learning. We can package our system in a way that integrates into any LMS.
- For Video-Only customers we license the video content out for use in your existing LMS.
How do the video resources complement the textbook material?
In a fast-paced video-first world we’ve recognized video is the primary medium used by most people to find information, seek entertainment, and learn new skills. We’ve built a searchable library of videos which we continue to improve and update, on nearly every topic in the electrical trade.
Not only does our textbook come with QR codes throughout, but our video library has much more content covering a vast amount of topics in electrical.
Are there any professional development opportunities for teachers?
Yes! We’ve found there are many vocational schools, high schools, colleges, and trade programs who have a lack of experienced instructors. Our solution to this is a 5-hour instructor certification course which, once completed, gives instructors a depth of knowledge and teaching methodology that it’s guaranteed to elevate instruction.
For schools who adopt our textbooks and learning system in full, we offer this certification course for free to every instructor.
Can the curriculum be customized to fit our specific program needs?
The beauty of our learning system is it’s flexibility. We’ve purposefully written the textbooks and lesson plans to be comprehensive. This means if there’s anything you don’t want to teach, you don’t have to.
We do have a suggested order for the curriculum but we recognize every training program has different needs, so each topic is modular in order to give flexibility to move things around as you see fit.
Do you offer any discounts for educational institutions?
Our pricing is tiered based on volume of book sales. The more textbooks you buy the deeper the discounts go.
